JENNIFER GOLDSWORTHY

Director and Financial Adviser

B.Bus & Fin.Planning, JP (C.dec)

Jennifer first entered the family business after high school, starting on reception. Over the years she worked her way up and across different roles and completed her degree in 2007. This made her one of the youngest advisers in Australia at that time. Jennifer took a 6-month break to work in AMP’s head office and spend time travelling before re-joining the business. In 2022, when her father retired, Jennifer purchased the business and, with a subtle rebrand, is continuing to deliver the high standards of advice and service that Goldsworthy is renowned for.

As an Adviser, Jennifer enjoys the challenging nature of her role in an ever-changing industry and revels in the research that goes into helping clients map out ideas for how to achieve their goals.

Away from the office, Jennifer loves spending time with her husband and their young daughters Mai and Peggy. She is an active member of her local running club (where the post run coffee/chat is of equal importance), loves travelling and food (not cooking) with her ideal night out involving a degustation menu with matching wines. Yum!

AMY NIGHTINGALE

Financial Adviser

Dip.Financial Services, GradDipFinPlan

Amy started in the Financial Planning industry as a Client Services Officer in 2009, completing her initial Diploma in 2012. The following year she spread her wings as an official Adviser and was awarded the AMP Financial Planning New Adviser of the Year Award for the QLD South Region in 2014. Amy joined our Goldsworthy family in 2018 and completed her Graduate Degree in 2019.

Making a genuine difference in people’s financial futures is one of the reasons Amy enjoys being an Adviser. She is also particularly passionate about helping young professional women feel confident about their financial security. The variety of client situations keeps things interesting, ensuring there is never a dull moment!

When not wearing her Adviser hat, Amy is a passionate nail art enthusiast, loves a good book to ‘listen to’ on Audible, follows the Formula 1 racing, loves her cats and enjoys overseas travel.

JESS LYON

Client Services Manager

Dip.Financial Services, AdvDip.Paraplanning,
JP (C.dec)

With an initial background in hospitality management, Jess entered the Financial Planning industry in 2008. Since that time, she has completed her Diploma in Financial Planning, Commission for Declarations and currently manages our Client Services team, implementing strategies and liaising with fund providers.

She has a genuine passion for file compliance and loves that her role enables her to be the conduit between our clients and the funds, ensuring their best interests are considered and needs are met.

On weekends you’ll find Jess attached to a coffee cup ensuring her caffeine levels are stable, which may or may not be a requirement when spending time with hubby and their 2 energetic young kids. Jess is also rather partial to an indulgent binge session of reality TV and will do almost anything for Brie cheese. Being right is also high up on the list of things she enjoys.

KATRINA REHLAENDER

Client Services Officer

Kat brings a wealth of experience to our FP Admin team – from medical imaging administrator to lab assistant, disability support worker to mining administration (on Australia’s most remote mine site) to her current role as Client Services Officer – the underlying drive for Kat is she loves learning and helping others.

Day to day you will find Kat diligently processing client documents and transactions, developing her love of spreadsheets and contemplating starting her RG146 Compliance.

In her downtime, Kat is organising her November wedding all the while finding time to stay fit and healthy walking her dog, enjoying regular date nights, spending time with family and friends and going on day and interstate trips.  Kat is a double heart transplant recipient who gives back by supporting DonateLife and raising awareness for organ donation.  Oh, did I mention she is a snake handler?  Best not to wrangle with Kat at any time!

MEGAN CUFFE

Client Services Officer

Megan is a long-term part of the Goldsworthy furniture having first started with the company as Office Manager in 2006. Coming from a previous career in the Fashion and Graphic Design space, these creative skills have not been wasted with Megan able to incorporate her design ability effectively across many of our flyer and stationary needs.

Megan is a strong advocate for ‘change’, helping team members learn and grow in confidence and mixing things up to keep us on our educational toes! After 15 years as our Office Manager, Megan first switched into a Team Leader role supporting both Financial and Insurance Advisers, but has now settled back into the Financial Planning team as a Client Services Officer.

When her brain is not in ‘work mode’ – Megan loves to sew, cook and bake cakes she never actually eats. (To which our office benefits!) Is a keen recycling Earth Warrior, kitchen herb grower, outdoor adventure hiker, heavy weight lifter and eager holiday taker. Needless to say, she fills her leisure time effectively!

CARLY JARVIS

Reception & Marketing

The Financial Planning and Insurance Industry was a foreign one to Carly when she first joined the Goldsworthy team, having come from a background of 12 years in the creative industries across Interior Design, Photography and Art. However, her relationship with the Goldsworthy family has been just as long, so when the need for an additional job-share receptionist came up combined with an interest in getting some focused energy into the Social Media and Marketing side, it was a natural fit.

Having a blended role means Carly gets double the enjoyment from her position. On the one hand she is able to satisfy her ‘people and process loving’ nature on reception and the other flex her ‘design muscles’ when creating content videos and imagery, taking photos and writing newsletters. It’s a win-win.

Her passion for creativity doesn’t stop outside the 9-5, loving to paint, draw, knit and crotchet. She believes David Attenborough should be King, is crossword obsessed and being immersed in nature with her family and no phone trumps all.

MICHELE STANTON

Receptionist

Michele’s history with both Goldsworthy and AMP is a long one having first started with AMP in 1973 after completing a ‘Commercial’ degree at high school. It was there she stayed until entering parenthood. When Ralph and Katrina Goldsworthy took over from founder Bill Orr, Michele joined them on a casual basis in between babies. Over the following years she worked with a handful of advisers, and it was when they retired, that she accepted a permanent reception position in 2012.

Being in the ‘front of house’ Michele enjoys the opportunity to chat with our clients, getting to know them on a personal level. This, in addition to working with a ‘pleasant and humorous team’ makes for an enjoyable work experience all round.

Michele’s ‘social skills’ at the front desk are no fluke, being quite the professional socialite on weekends often accompanied by a glass of bubbles. As a Redlands resident, bayside walks are high on the leisure activities list combined with a love of reading and learning Spanish.

LEAH RYAN

Executive Assistant

Originally from the UK, Leah moved to North Queensland during her high school years and first worked in a legal office after she graduated. Making a move to Brisbane shortly after, Leah continued in the law environment as a paralegal for 5 years before joining Goldsworthys in 2016.

Having started off as a Personal Assistant with her strong organisational and attention to detail skills as foundation, Leah’s role has grown to include supporting the Insurance and Financial Planning Managers and overseeing our front office Administration Team as well. Seeing the team around her thrive is a rewarding part of her role and she certainly knows her way around an Excel spreadsheet with her eyes closed.

When it comes to her interests and hobbies there is a strong Mexican theme with Leah. Not only does she enjoy a spicy margarita, hotter-the-better chilli and Mexican food in general, she’s a fur-mum to two tiny Chihuahuas Louie and Fergie to round it off.
